Jim Hudson, III is President/Owner of Hudson Companies, Inc. Hudson Companies has over thirty years experience in commercial real estate services from development and property management to sales and leasing. Through the years, Mr. Hudson has overseen the development of nearly 3,000,000 square feet of office, industrial, distribution and retail properties in the tri-state area. Day to day operations include: development, financing and property acquisitions. Mr. Hudson is an alumnus of Baylor School, Chattanooga and University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
In 1979, Mr. Hudson was an aide to U.S. Senator Howard Baker in his Presidential bid. From there, he became an aid to then State Senate Minority Leader Ben Atchley from Knox County. In 1980, from Knoxville, he ran and was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives from Knox County which made him the youngest member of the 92nd Tennessee General Assembly at age 23. Two years later, he was re-elected for a second term. In 1983, he was named as the Tennessee Young Political Leader of the Year by the American Legislative Exchange Council and in 1987 was named the Chattanooga Jaycees Young Man of the Year.
Mr. Hudson currently serves as chairman of Carter Street Corporation (owner of the Hamilton County/Chattanooga Convention and Trade Center). He is the past chairman of the Hamilton County River Park Advisory Board. He is past president of the Chattanooga Chapter of BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association), past chairman of The Board of Bright School, Chattanooga and is a member of the Tennessee, Georgia and National Associations of Realtors.
